Florida Vs Kentucky Preview

The Kentucky Wildcats (3-5) are set to host the Florida Gators (3-5) at 7:30 on Saturday.

Going into the season, this matchup would have been the furthest thing from Florida fans’ minds. Games against Georgia and Miami were of much more concern, as the consensus was that the Gators would be firmly in the playoff hunt. Life comes at you fast.

Now, with Billy Napier sent packing and interim HC Billy Gonzales taking his place, the Gators look to keep a disastrous season from going completely off the rails. With games against Ole Miss and Tennessee looming, the Gators can ill afford to lose this game if they have any aspirations of a winning season.

For Kentucky, this game is about delaying the seemingly inevitable; one thing every sports pundit seems to agree on is that Kentucky will be looking for a new coach this offseason. Mark Stoops is the longest tenured active SEC head coach and the winningest coach in school history, but his record has flatlined since 2021 and there doesn’t seem to be any improvement on the horizon.

Matchup wise, this game favors Florida. Both offenses will have a slow start, but the Gators defense will be able to hold for longer than the than its Wildcat counterpart. Expect Florida to give Boley fits. 24-10 Gators.
